Hi Ed and the gang,
I was a new member this year to the Yankee Flyers and love participating.
I have been working with my town and with Skyhoundz to schedule an event in RI
and it has been confirmed! September 13, 2003 in Chepachet RI we will be
hosting a Skyhoundz disc dog event! The town recreation department has
agreed to work with me to assist in gaining as many spectators as we can in
hopes to get more and more each year. Registration will be between 9:30 am
and 10:30am. The event is posted on Skyhoundz.com now. We will have
toss and fetch and please reply if you are interested in freestyle. The
event will be free to all who enter and free for spectators. I hope many
of you will attend.
Directions:
Chepachet (Glocester RI) is not far from CT at all. One can take Rt 395 to
Putnam and grab Rt 44 east towards RI. Continue on Rt 44 into RI and
Glocester Memorial Park is just before the center of the town of Chepachet on
your right hand side. If you come to the light at the fork intersection
you've traveled too far, turn around and it is about 1/3 mile back. This
is probably the fasts Route. If you would rather travel 95N to 295N, take
exit Greenvile (7B) to Rt 44 west and travel to the only traffic light in
Chepachet, again it is about 1/3 mile on the right.
Continue down that road past the horse farm and take a left at the end, you will
see 2 softball fields, tennis courts, b-ball courts. Go past them to the
right and continue on the dirt road. Behind the basketball courts (cannot
see from them) there is a very very large field of which the event will be held!
